Construction Manager
Reed has enjoyed a varied and interesting construction career. Recently he worked on several large projects in Iraq for Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) before joining LEECM as a Project Manager. Having worked for one of the largest construction companies in the world, he brings to the team highly developed knowledge of task integration, schedule maintenance, and quality assurance.
In May 2007, Reed completed the high profile, historic renovation of the Sprigg Lane Mansion. Completed in early May 2007, this exacting renovation of the interior and exterior included all new HVAC, electrical services, and handicap accessibility measures for future use as a home for a College Dean and a gathering place for professors and students. The original look and character was preserved while bringing each system into the modern world. The Foundation has identified this project as one of the most successful residential renovations they have recently undertaken.
After the completion of Sprigg Lane Mansion Renovation, Reed moved directly to the demolition of Blue Ridge Hospital. This project is one of the largest demolition projects in recent Virginia history with over twenty buildings slated to be abated of hazardous materials and then dismantled. Nine buildings have been identified by the Virginia Department Historic Resources Board and the Foundation as being suitable for future historic renovation or adaptive re-use. Much of the brick, block, and concrete will be crushed on site and stockpiled for use when parking lots and road beds are constructed during future site development.
Currently, Reed is working on projects for the City of Charlottesville. LEECM has a term contract with the City.
